Salisbury, MD — Griswold, the in-home senior care franchise with over 200 locations in 31 states, is celebrating its most recent opening in Salisbury, MD. Griswold Home Care for Lower Eastern Shore proudly marked its launch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony co-hosted by The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, which included chamber members, community leaders, colleagues and local business owners.
“The care we provide to the communities we serve is something we’re extremely proud of, and we are excited to bring that same level of quality care to the Lower Eastern Shore,” said Beth Copeland, Owner and Director of Griswold Home Care for Lower Eastern Shore and Griswold Home Care for Kent/Sussex Counties. “Eastern Shore residents can Live Assured knowing that seniors in their communities will be in good hands with Griswold’s support, and we are thrilled to establish our office in downtown Salisbury.”
Home care provides seniors and those in need with the support they need to live in the comfort and security of their homes. “This is more than just a job. It’s rewarding to offer a service that allows seniors and adults with illness or injury to remain at home, and the relationships we build with local families is our motivation,” said Copeland. “People are grateful to have the peace of mind we can provide.”
Founded in 1982 as one of the first non-medical home care franchises in the United States, Griswold Home Care for Lower Eastern Shore is backed by over 40 years of experience providing quality home care to the elderly, disabled adults, and individuals recovering from illness or surgery. Griswold was founded by Dr. Jean Griswold, a senior care professional who had multiple sclerosis and recognized firsthand that the elderly often lacked the assistance they needed to remain independent at home.
Copeland took ownership of her first Griswold location in Lewes, DE, in 2019. “My grandfather had cancer and always wanted to be at home but couldn’t be. They didn’t have services like this back then,” Copeland said. “When I heard about Jean Griswold’s mission, I thought it matched exactly what I was feeling. This was a service people needed.”
At Tuesday’s ribbon cutting, guests were welcomed to the new office on East Main Street with light fare provided by fellow chamber of commerce member, The Modern Graze. Attendees enjoyed cold beverages, door prizes and opportunities to network with other local businesses, while learning more about Griswold.
“We have been so warmly welcomed into the Salisbury community, and we look forward to becoming an essential member of this vibrant town,” said Copeland.
