Local Golfers interested in playing the beautiful private War Admiral golf course at Glen Riddle in West Ocean City will have the opportunity to do so as Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore presents its 28th annual golf tournament, sponsored by Delmarva Power. On April 28, 2014, teams and individuals are invited to tee off on this beautiful green in support of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and job readiness programs in local K-12 classrooms.

“Delmarva Power salutes Junior Achievement for the work it does in teaching financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship to more than 5,500 area youths,” said John Petito of Delmarva Power, the sponsor of this event. “Our area’s economic future depends on making sure today’s youths are properly trained in business-related skills, and Junior Achievement does a great job in helping to make sure many young people receive the necessary training to succeed in the business world.”

Team registration to play on the mature forested War Admiral is $600, while individual is $150. Entry fee includes range, cart, lunch, snacks, drinks, prize reception, and more.  Registration begins at noon, with the tournament commencing at one p.m. All proceeds from the event go directly to funding Junior Achievement programs in Wicomico and Worcester Counties.

Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore is committed to giving young people in all communities the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. Through its hands-on, age-appropriate programs, Junior Achievement inspires our youth to live within their means, prepare for the world of work, and understand the free enterprise system.
