Major Vic Tidman to Speak at November Rotary Meeting

MAJOR VIC TIDMAN OF THE SALVATION ARMY TO SPEAK AT ROTARY CLUB OF SALISBURY NOVEMBER 13

The Rotary Club of Salisbury is pleased to welcome to its Thursday, November 13 meeting Major Vic Tidman of The Salvation Army Salisbury. Major Tidman will present “Life in Russia,” which will highlight his recent assignment in St. Petersburg, Russia with wife Ellen, a first generation officer.

The Tidmans spent six years in Russia prior to their Salisbury assignment. There, Major Tidman and Ellen were appointed as Area Coordinators for The Salisbury Army in Northern Russia. The Major was also in charge of public relations, fundraising and men’s programs for all of Russia. Ellen was responsible for grants and projects in Russia as well as the Overseas Child Sponsorship program.

Major Tidman is a fourth generation Salvation Army Officer who was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He met wife Ellen while at Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky. They were commissioned as Officers in The Salvation Army in 1993 and have also served as Commanders in Oklahoma, Georgia and Virginia. The Tidmans have two children.

The Rotary Club of Salisbury meets every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in the Rotary Scout and Community Center at 1715 Riverside Drive in Salisbury.
