NEED FREE LEGAL ADVICE?
Who is providing Free Civil Legal Clinics in February 2019?
Mid-Shore Pro Bono. MSPB is excited to inform our community of free legal clinics in Wicomico in addition to other Maryland counties on the Eastern Shore. At these clinics, clients who are income qualified will have a free one-on-one consultation with an attorney to get advice on civil legal issues.
How will these help? MSPB offers clinics for specific legal issues such as:
Elder Law: These clinics give seniors an opportunity to discuss their will, power of attorney and advanced medical directives and other legal matters seniors may face.
Consumer Debt: Clinics provide clients with legal advice on credit card debt and bankruptcy and other consumer debt matters.
Family Law: Assists clients with legal advice regarding divorce, custody and visitation.

Who does this benefit
Everyone! While it’s obvious to MSPB and our clients why these civil legal clinics are definitely needed, it may not be as evident to business owners, employers, and other community stakeholders. One good reason for business leaders to care is that the civil legal issues we help our clients with impact other areas of life. For example, an employee going through a divorce, foreclosure, or bankruptcy may not tell their employer, but their legal problems may be manifest in tardiness, absenteeism, distraction and poor job performance. The economic impact on the community is improved when its citizens are not living in marginal situations. Business leaders can know for sure that MSPB ultimately helps employees at their most vulnerable times with issues that affect them even in the workplace. The benefit of these services goes beyond the assistance we provide to persons who are in real need of civil legal services but cannot afford them. These free civil legal services also strengthen our entire connected community.
