Bryan Newton, vice president for enrollment management and student experience at Aiken (S.C.) Technical College, was recently selected to fill the newly-created position of vice president for enrollment management and student services at Wor-Wic Community College.
Newton received his bachelor’s degree in history from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and his juris doctorate from The Ohio State University in Columbus. He has completed his doctoral coursework, and is a doctoral candidate in the higher education leadership program at Colorado State University. Newton has 13 years of community college work experience, 10 of which were in the areas of enrollment management and student services.
“He has a record of significant accomplishments in a variety of community college roles,” said Dr. Ray Hoy, president of Wor-Wic. “In addition to his current position at Aiken Technical College, he has been a vice chancellor for student affairs and assistant vice provost for admissions and enrollment management at Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana. He has a legal education and community college work experience in resource development and human resources, as well as teaching experience in business, business law, career preparation and college orientation. His background and experience will be a real asset to Wor-Wic.
At Wor-Wic, Newton will oversee admissions, career services, child care, counseling, financial aid, student activities, student retention and the registrar’s office.
The move to Wor-Wic brings him closer to extended family members who live in Philadelphia and New Jersey.
