405 Joe Morgan Dr. (just off Main St. by the Carnival grounds)

9:00am – 3:00pm

Volunteers are encouraged to come early to:

All You Can Eat Breakfast Buffet

American Legion Post 218

203 State St. (around the corner from the Memorial Building)

7:00-10:00am

Cost is $8.00 per person

The money collected will go towards the many veteran support projects the American Legion is involved in.

We will pack several hundred care packages to be shipped to our deployed troops. We are in need of a few things:

1. Donations of supplies for the care packages. The most needed items at this time are the Chef Boyardee canned pasta (15oz), shampoo/body wash, deodorant, toothpaste and Ramen noodles (brick not cup). A complete list of needed items is attached to this email. Donations can be brought to the packing party as well.

2. Names and addresses of soldiers to send the care packages to. If you know of someone who is currently deployed and will be in country at least until the end of July please reply with the information and we will send them a care package or packages.

3. Financial contributions. The funds collected are used to cover the cost of postage (over $21,000 last year) and to cover the expenses of the various military and Wounded Warrior support efforts we are involved in. Operation We Care is a 501c/3 non-profit organization and your contribution may be tax deductible.

George Jackson will be joining us with his Scrolls for the Troops and we will have several Harley-Davidson flags to sign as well.
