SALISBURY, MD—Three Salisbury University finance students recently attended the Global Asset Management Education (GAME) Forum in New York.
Senior SU Sea Gull Fund student managers Christopher Catan of Oneonta, NY, Kristian Nilsen of Glen Burnie, MD, and Garrett Parr of Manchester, MD, had the opportunity to attend various keynote panels and breakout sessions featuring some of the most recognizable names on Wall Street.
The students were accompanied by Dr. Herman Manakyan, professor of finance and Sea Gull Fund advisor.
The GAME Forum is the leading student-focused investment education conference in the U.S. and attracts over 1,200 students from more than 150 colleges and universities globally.
The Sea Gull Fund became the first undergraduate-student-managed investment fund in Maryland at its inception in 2000, thanks to a scholarship donation and subsequent support from Wayne ’89 and Melissa ’89 Judkins, and is one of the longest-tenured student-managed investment funds in the U.S.
Today, the portfolio has a value of approximately $2 million and continues to be managed entirely by undergraduate finance students in SU’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business.
