The Daily Record today named Dr. Peggy Naleppa, Peninsula Regional Medical Center President/CEO, to its 2015 listing of Maryland’s Top 100 Women, the 20th anniversary of the award program. As a three-time recipient of this recognition, Dr. Naleppa will join 10 other women who will be inducted into the Circle of Excellence for their sustained achievements.
The Daily Record began Maryland’s Top 100 Women in 1996 to recognize outstanding achievement by women demonstrated through professional accomplishments, community leadership and mentoring. Dr. Naleppa was also a recipient of the honor in 2011 and 2013.
In his letter of support for her nomination, Terry Murphy, President and CEO of Bayhealth in Delaware called Dr. Naleppa “a significant leader in the healthcare industry whose leadership has helped pave the way for substantial improvements in the industry that will last for generations.” Additionally, Carmela Coyle, President/CEO of the Maryland Hospital Association (MHA), said in her recommendation, “As someone running a major not-for-profit organization that feeds her community’s economy, Dr. Naleppa is an expert businessperson. As the leader of one of the state’s most innovative and highly awarded healthcare organizations, her compassion and vision know no bounds.”
Dr. Naleppa, who chairs the MHA’s Council on Financial Policy and is a long-standing member of the Executive Committee of the Board, was among nearly 400 women who were nominated for the statewide honor. A panel of judges comprised of business professionals and past Maryland’s Top 100 Women winners from throughout the state reviewed the applications and selected this year’s honorees. Dr. Naleppa was also named earlier this year by The Daily Record as One of 2015’s Influential Marylanders.
“This year’s Maryland’s Top 100 Women are extraordinary. They go above and beyond in everything they do. They lead companies, create change, break barriers, chart new territory and make a difference at home, at work and in their communities,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher. “They inspire those around them to be the best they can be. The Daily Record is pleased to honor them.”
The awards will be presented at a reception on Monday, May 4 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore. Winners will be profiled in a special magazine that will be inserted into the Friday, May 8, issue of The Daily Record and available online at www.TheDailyRecord.com.
