Recovery Resource Center’s 3rd Annual Lighting Up Recovery Breakfast will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Dove Pointe, 1225 Mount Hermon Rd, Salisbury, MD.  The doors will open 6:30 am, and Flannery’s Chef Stewart will serve breakfast at 7 am.  Guests will be greeted by the music of “Such Fools”, with musicians Mickey Justice, Todd Smith, and Dick Morris.   Keynote speaker is Marty Boldin, LICSW, MLADC and Dean’s Fellow at Boston University, who will address the stigma of addiction and how it interferes with the recovery process. His message is HOPE.

Ernie Colburn, immediate Past President of Recovery Resource Center, will emcee.  Miles Weber, a person in long term recovery from Delmar, DE will share his story.  RRC will again honor an individual and an agency with Recovery Angel Awards, as well as honoring two of the founders of this organization that began in 1987 as a good idea.

Recovery Resource Center’s mission is to support individuals on the journey of Recovery, which it has been doing for 26 years. Currently, it is home to 47 different 12 Step Meetings every week, and is open 365 days/year.  RRC now offers workshops and trainings for the Recovery Community, including Narcan and CPR trainings, parenting classes, stress management workshops and workshops to explore educational opportunities for sustained recovery.  All workshops are provided at no cost to the individual, although pre-registration is required for all workshops.  Social events are also part of the offerings at RRC.  The funds raised through the Breakfast will support the continued work of RRC, where there is help, there is hope, and it’s free.

The RRC Board of Directors wishes to acknowledge and thank Avery Hall Insurance, Credit Plus, Inc., the Richard A. Henson Foundation, and Pemberton Pharmacy for their sponsorship of this event.  Tickets are $25.00 and may be purchased by calling 410-749-9482, or going to the RRC website, www.rrcsby.org
