SACC Hosts “Breakfast with Senator Van Hollen” December 4

The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce will host “Breakfast with Senator Van Hollen,” Monday, December 4 at the Hampton Inn in Salisbury. U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen will be addressing attendees on the role the region plays in relation to the financial wellbeing of the state.

“The Eastern Shore is crucial to Maryland’s economy – from the strength of our tourism industry, to the importance of our agriculture sector, to the growth of innovative new businesses,” he said. “I’m excited to join the members of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce to hear their thoughts on opportunities and challenges in the region and to share my work in Congress on issues facing the Shore. I’m looking forward to a productive and informative discussion with Salisbury’s business leaders.”

Van Hollen was elected to the United States Senate in November, 2016 and began his term January 3, 2017. He currently sits on the Senate’s Appropriations Committee, Budget Committee, Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee, and the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee. He served as a member of U.S. House of Representatives, 8th Congressional District from January 7, 2003 to January 3, 2017. From January 11, 1995 to January 8, 2003, he was a Member of the Maryland State Senate, representing District 18 (Montgomery County). Van Hollen was also a Member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 18 (Montgomery County), from January 1991 to January 11, 1995.
