Salisbury Jaycees announce 2018 award winners, 2019 board of directors

SALISBURY, MD—The Salisbury Jaycees recently announced its 2018 award winners during the chapter’s annual Awards and Installation Banquet. Honorees included:

Project of the Year – Wicomico County Fair concessions, Cory Copeland and Tyler Harwood project managers

Committee of the Year – Adaptive Easter Egg Hunt, Shannon Vaughan project manager

New Project of the Year – Wicomico County Fresh Start, Kellie Harvey project manager

  1. William Brownfield Award (most active first-year member) – Kayla Smith

John Armbruster Award (most active veteran member) – Don Rutledge

Hidden Hero Award – D’Shawn Doughty

Sean McLaughlin Friendliest Jaycee Award – Vinnie Sirna

Key Person Award – Vinnie Sirna

John Jacob Jr. Executive Board Member of the Year – Kayla Smith

Outstanding Community Partner Award – Jamie Heater, Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District

John Culver Jaycee of the Year – Cory Copeland

During the ceremony, the chapter’s 2019 board of directors also was sworn in. It includes President Jamie Nichols, Chair Kristy Johnson, Individual Development Vice President Kyle Livingston and Community Development Vice President D’Shawn Doughty.

The Salisbury Jaycees is a community service, social and leadership training organization for men and women ages 18-40 in Wicomico County and surrounding areas. Membership meetings are 7 p.m. the third Monday of each month at the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Business Center.
