The U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce recently recognized members of the Salisbury Jaycees among the best in the country during the organization’s annual meeting in Baltimore.
Salisbury Jaycees state director and Maryland Jaycees executive vice president Travis Fisher received the Presidential Medallion, one of the highest individual honors awarded to chapter members. The medallion recognized Fisher for his efforts at the local and state levels, as well as his service to the national convention planning committee.
Fisher also received the Bzzz Tour Medallion for his participation in the U.S. Jaycees’ partnership with the United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign to fight the spread of malaria by providing mosquito nets to residents of developing nations.
The Salisbury Jaycees’ social media marketing program was named the nation’s top Jaycees local growth and development program for 2013. SAIC and Jaycees Fight Back Together, a Relay For Life team chaired by former Salisbury Jaycees President Melanie Smith, was honored as the top fundraising Jaycees Relay team of the year.
Along with Fisher, several other members represented the Salisbury chapter at the national convention, including president Emily Nock, chairperson of the board Jess Kling, and past presidents Terri Tonelli and Jason Rhodes.
