Salisbury, MD — From notable alumni to community partners, more than a dozen dynamic leaders from Maryland and beyond have been announced as the first members of Salisbury University’s newly revived board of visitors.
“These individuals represent some of the most innovative and transformative in their fields,” said SU President Carolyn Ringer Lepre. “Through their dedication, they not only have become corporate and community leaders, but also serve as role models to our current students and, in many cases, demonstrate the good that can be accomplished with an SU degree. We are honored by their commitment to our University and their desire to help launch this historic initiative.”
Much like their predecessors on SU’s original board of visitors, from 1969-1988, these new board members will serve as advisors to the University from both the private and public sectors. They also will act as ambassadors for SU in the greater community. They include:
- The Honorable Janeen Birckhead, adjutant general of Maryland, Maryland National Guard
- Todd Burbage ’95, chief executive officer, Blue Water Development
- Pete Buzy ’84, retired director and former president, Paragon Gene Therapy, Catalent, Inc.
- Natalie Davis ’05, chief executive officer and co-founder, United States of Care
- The Honorable Jake Day, secretary, Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development
- Mike Dunn ’84, president and chief executive officer, Greater Salisbury Committee
- Dalencia Jenkins ’21, meteorologist, WBAL-TV 11 Baltimore
- Anne Klase ’11, senior manager, state government affairs, Pepco Holdings and Delmarva Power
- Dr. Steve Leonard M’07, president and chief executive officer, TidalHealth
- Erica Messer ’95, executive producer, showrunner, and writer, Paramount+ — Criminal Minds
- David Pierce, Wallops Flight Facility director, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
- Chrissy Schifkovitz ’08, senior director, development and corporate partnerships, The Maryland Zoo
- Colin Sweetin ’17, corporate affairs director, Erickson Senior Living
