SALISBURY, MD—Salisbury University is celebrating the following recent faculty successes:

Dr. Diallo Sessoms, associate professor of instructional technology in the Early and Elementary Education Department in SU’s Samuel W. and Marilyn C. Seidel School of Education, organized a professional development training on invention literacy for University education and music faculty, and local public school personnel.

The initiative established SU as the Delmarva Peninsula’s only official training partner with Makey Makey, a company specializing in hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) “maker” kits for K-12 students. All participants were certified as Makey Makey educators.

SU’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business has renewed registration of its financial planning track in the Economics and Finance Department with the national Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards through April 2020. Dr. Tylor Claggett, professor of finance, oversaw the renewal process.

Also in the Perdue School, Dr. Frank Shipper, professor emeritus of management, testified in the Maryland Legislature on bills in support of employee ownership. Shipper has published and presented a number of case studies on the benefits of employee ownership, often collaborating with colleagues at SU and other universities.
