Mayor James Ireton, Jr., and the Wicomico County Health Department encourage you to lace up your shoes and take a lunchtime walk around Downtown Salisbury on Friday, November 21st at 12 noon, as part of the inaugural lap of Salisbury’s Downtown Walking Route.
With Community Transformation Grant monies from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Wicomico County Health Department, in cooperation with the City of Salisbury, has mapped and placed signage along the approximately 1 (one) mile route around the perimeter of Downtown Salisbury. The Downtown Walking Route serves to improve employer and employee health and well-being, as well as the health of the community, by providing an easy, enjoyable way to get active on lunch breaks, or anytime.
Local dignitaries, including representatives for the Mayor’s office and Wicomico County Health Department will conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony at the pavilion on Market St. at Baptist St. Employees of downtown businesses and the general public are encouraged to attend.
The rain date for this event is Monday, November 24th, at 12 noon.
