The SACC October Business After Hours was hosted by Simple Fiber on October 11, 2024, at the One Plaza East Building’s lobby area in Downtown Salisbury.
Owners Bret and Kirk Davis and their staff welcomed guests, while Chief Technology Officer Brice Perdue provided a glimpse of the equipment used to provide high-speed internet. Guests later toured the data center and learned how it works.
Davis shared with the guests, “We ended up housing a data center for the State of Maryland in the basement of this building. We decided to run internet down the street, and it just kept growing. We are now in Pocomoke, Princess Anne, Salisbury, Denton, and soon in Crisfield, Berlin, and Snow Hill, as we are applying for our license in Delaware. We are an infrastructure company throughout the Eastern Shore. These pieces of plastic I have in my hand are already underground, and inside the plastic, we run a small but super powerful fiber. We are fully ready for whatever comes next. To give you a perspective, the 10’x15’ data center downstairs can supply the internet to the entire city of Salisbury. We appreciate the organizations that have supported us throughout the years, like the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, Pohanka Automotive, and Inacom.”
