The Board of Directors of the Salisbury Substance Abuse Community Center (SSACC) is pleased to announce that Beth Ohlsson has been hired as its new Executive Director.
SSACC has survived on volunteer efforts since opening its doors in 1991. Hiring an Executive Director marks a new chapter for the SSACC as it expands its outreach and education efforts in face of the current epidemic of drug and alcohol addiction.
Before coming to SSACC, Beth spent 25 years as an educator in Frederick County Public Schools. In 2000, she left teaching to work in the addictions field, moving to the Eastern Shore in 2002 to join Worcester County Health Department’s Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program. While with Worcester Health Department, she was an addictions counselor at the WACS Center in Ocean City and the Center 4 Clean Start in Salisbury.
