Superintendent Search: Stakeholder Input Survey Open Jan. 14-24

WCBOE

The Wicomico County Board of Education is contracting with the Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE) for the purpose of conducting a search for our next Superintendent of Schools, as Dr. Donna Hanlin is retiring June 30, 2022.

The first step in the search process is a Stakeholder Input Survey. This survey has been developed to receive input from staff, students, families and the general public. The survey will open at noon Friday, January 14th and remain open through 5 p.m. January 24th. Once it opens on Friday, the survey can be accessed through a Stakeholder Input Survey button on the home page at www.wcboe.org.

The purpose of the survey is to determine the strengths of the county and school system, the characteristics the public believes a superintendent should possess, and what challenges a new superintendent may face.

Once survey information is reviewed, the Board will work with MABE to develop advertising, candidate characteristics and interview questions, and to set a timeline for applications and subsequent interviews. The Board intends to make a final decision that is announced by late May or early June.

Any questions regarding the survey or search process should be directed to Dr. Terry Greenwood, search consultant at MABE (tgreenwood@mabe.org).
