Salisbury, MD: The Downtown Salisbury Festival returns this June 12-14, 2020! The free threeday festival will be complete with carnival rides, a full live music line-up, great food, and local vendors – presented by Toyota and Pohanka of Salisbury Automotive. This year the action will take place along Main Street, Market Street and at the Riverwalk Amphitheater. From funnel cake, to oyster fritters – there will be something for everyone at the Downtown Salisbury Festival this June.
The Salisbury Festival started in the 1980’s as the Dogwood Festival, and was continued as the Salisbury Festival by the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce for 32 years before retiring the concept in 2015. Since 2017, the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District has teamed up with the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce to bring a carnival back to Downtown Salisbury, and has plans to continue the event far into the future.
“On the heels of experiencing the National Folk Festival, we hope our community rallies behind the Downtown Salisbury Festival, as a once annual celebration of what makes our city uniquely ours” says Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District’s executive director Jamie Heater. The festival is currently accepting applications for food vendors, commercial vendors, artists, and entertainers. Applications are available for pick-up at the Downtown Salisbury Visitor Center, or can be downloaded online.
“We are so excited to continue the long-running tradition of Downtown Salisbury Festival in the heart of our city – We look forward to seeing you Downtown!” said Mayor Jake Day. This year’s festival will be hosted along Main Street and Market Street east of Division Street. The festival will also include the Riverwalk including the Pohanka Riverwalk Amphitheater. City of Salisbury Parking Lot One, Parking Lot Ten and the Parking Garage will be open with free parking.
The festival will take place on Friday June 12th, Saturday June 13th and Sunday June 14th, 2020.
