The Friends of Wicomico Public Libraries and the Rotary Club of Wicomico County will be hosting a premier event – A Gala of Thrones on Saturday, October 21st, 6:00-9:00 PM at the Downtown Library. The event is based on George R. R. Martin’s series of novels A Game of Thrones. This is an 18+ event and costumes are encouraged. Tickets are $75 and may be purchased online at tinyurl.com/agalaofthrones. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Rotary Club of Wicomico County and Project READ, which is a free, one-on-one adult literacy program that assists adults in becoming fluent in the basic skills associated with Reading, Writing and Math.
Wicomico Public Libraries are located in Downtown Salisbury, the Centre at Salisbury, in Pittsville, and the Libraries’ Bookmobile. Wicomico Public Libraries offer numerous resources such as free Internet access, a variety of classes and events, and an online eBooks library, and it engages the community through education, economic development and through various community events.
