Tidal Health’s Health Fest partners with Salisbury’s Fire Department

Salisbury, MD —TidalHealth is honored to partner with the Salisbury Fire Department to present HealthFest “Care for Generations” on Sat., March 15 from 9 a.m. to Noon. The event is designed to provide people of all ages the opportunity to learn how healthy they are and what they can do to ensure an even healthier, more productive and active lifestyle.

TidalHealth’s annual health fair will be held at Salisbury Fire Department Headquarters Station 16 at 325 Cypress Street in Salisbury and will feature about 50 exhibitors, healthy living information booths, presentations and demonstrations, entertainment and more. TidalHealth clinical professionals will be on hand to provide a showcase of exhibits, community outreach information and free screenings.

A sample of the screenings offered at no cost include blood pressure testing, hearing tests, vision screenings, cholesterol screenings, general health assessments, nutrition advice, cancer prevention information, diabetes risk assessment and A1C blood draws for those scoring high on the risk test. Attendees will also be able to talk to a pharmacist at the Ask the Pharmacist booth, get help in finding a family physician, and learn more about kidney health from the National Kidney Foundation.

This year’s event will feature special demonstrations:

  • 9-9:30 a.m.: YMCA with Enhance Fitness Class – an evidence-based health program for seniors with arthritis
  • 10-10:30 a.m.: Dancing on the Shore with USA Dance Eastern Shore offering a mini ballroom dance style lesson
  • 11-11:30: Park’s Martial Arts offering a Tai Chi demo

HealthFest’s Kids Corner will give youngsters of all ages an opportunity to play games, juggle with Cascading Carlos, and enjoy airbrush face painting. They may also visit the Teddy Bear clinic where a nurse will help a child give a teddy bear a health check-up and then they may take the bear home.
