SALISBURY, MD—Trombonists from the greater community join those from Salisbury University in concert during SU Trombone Day 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.
Earlier that day, area trombonists are invited to attend a brief rehearsal and clinic for a trombone choir performance scheduled during the evening event.
Dr. Isrea Butler, chair of North Carolina Central University’s music department, serves as guest trombonist for this year’s event. He has played all four chairs in the prestigious Count Basie Orchestra and performed with many of the nation’s top jazz ensembles. Butler is the former director of band and brass studies at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
