SALISBURY—U.S. News & World Report has ranked several of Salisbury University’s graduate programs among the nation’s best.
In its list of Best Graduate Schools for 2020, SU made the top tier in three categories: Doctor of Nursing Practice (No. 133), Master of Science in Nursing (No. 140), and Master of Social Work (No. 168). SU’s Master of Business Administration also was listed, but not ranked.
“These accolades highlight the quality and importance of the academic programs in our new College of Health and Human Services and the outstanding reputation of our Perdue School of Business,” said Dr. Karen Olmstead, provost and senior vice president of academic affairs. “SU is committed to developing high-quality programs for advanced learning and providing students opportunities for inter-professional education, especially in these fields.”
Dr. Clifton Griffin, dean of graduate studies and research added: “Having three of our graduate programs recognized for top-tier excellence is indeed gratifying! It’s fantastic to work with such motivated faculty, staff and students. We take great pride in offering graduate programs in areas of critical need that support the SU mission as a strong regional comprehensive university.”
U.S. News ranks professional school programs in areas including business, education, engineering, health specialties, law, medicine and nursing. The rankings are based on expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students. More than 2,000 programs were surveyed.
Last fall, U.S. News ranked SU among its “Best Regional Universities in North” for the 22nd consecutive year. SU also was named among the publication’s “Best Value Schools” “Top Public Schools,” “A-Plus Schools for B Students” and “Best Schools for Veterans.” U.S. News also has rated SU’s online M.B.A. Program one of the top in the U.S. (No. 113).
Recently, the Chronicle of Higher Education named SU one of nation’s top producers of Fulbright Students, and the No. 1 public institution (by percentage) for enrolling and graduating women in computer science.
