United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore is pleased to announce the addition of two part-time team members supporting local programs and services throughout Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset and Dorchester Counties. Tracy Ritter, Grant Manager, and Cathie Thomas, Leadership & Planned Giving Officer, recently joined the United Way team as a result of a significant anonymous grant received to help United Way expand services.
Kathleen Mommé, Executive Director of United Way shared, “Our goal with these unexpected funds is to build capacity with the creation of two, very much needed positions. Both Tracy and Cathie have the potential to take our community impact funding to a whole new level by connecting our organization with previously unattainable grants and fostering relationships with individuals on the Shore who want to leave a legacy of caring for their Lower Shore neighbors in need.”
Ritter comes to United Way with 15 years of experience in grant writing on numerous projects, including health, financial stability and poverty reduction. Thomas, with the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, has spent a great deal of time supporting local non-profits over the past 30 years, having served on the Board of United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore, the United Methodist Church Altar Guild, Junior Achievement, Salisbury Junior Service League, and Hope with Support.
