Salisbury, MD — Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County (HFHWC) is participating in the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore’s “Shore Gives More Campaign” on Giving Tuesday, November 28, 2023. HFHWC has secured $20,400 in matching gift funds, meaning any contribution made through the Shore Gives More website on Giving Tuesday will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to that amount.
Early giving begins November 20th and Giving Tuesday officially begins November 28th. All funding will be directed toward the renovation of HFHWC’s new administrative office location and second ReStore location in Fruitland, MD. Expanded offices and an additional ReStore location will give HFHWC more resources to address the growing affordable housing crisis in Wicomico and Somerset Counties. To double your donation on Giving Tuesday, go to www.shoregivesmore.org/hfhwc.
About Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County
Habitat for Humanity works to make homeownership of decent, affordable homes a matter of conscience and action. Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County was founded in 1987; since then the affiliate has built/renovated and sold 74 homes locally. Through volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent homes with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat homes are sold to partner families at no profit, financed with affordable, low-interest loans. The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments come back to the affiliate to help build more homes for more families.
