WICOMICO PUBLIC LIBRARIES’ PROJECT READ PROGRAM RECEIVES RECOGNITION FROM DOVE POINTE

Dove Pointe Presentation to Project Read

Wynnette Curtis, Coordinator of Project READ, Wicomico Public Libraries’ adult literacy program was presented with a plaque from Donald Hackett, Executive Director of Dove Pointe on December 18th, 2017 in recognition of the program’s literacy work. Project READ has partnered with Dove Pointe to provide needed literacy skills to citizens with disabilities such as improving reading and writing proficiencies and enabling consumers to attain viable employment and ultimately achieve greater independence.

Project READ, through its volunteer Literacy Coaches, offers free confidential, one-on-one tutoring in reading, math, writing, speaking, computer literacy, health literacy and job readiness skills to adult learners. To date, Project READ has assisted over 45 individuals to improve their life skills and be more successful.
