The Wor-Wic Community College Foundation recently welcomed Marilyn L. Bassford and Joseph Phillips Wright III of Salisbury, Dr. Brian Desaulniers of Princess Anne, Maureen L. Howarth of Ocean City and Patrick O’Malley of Berlin as new members of the board of directors.
Bassford is a retired international marketing specialist for the Maryland Department of Agriculture in Annapolis and Salisbury. She is a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and serves on the board of directors of the Schooner Ridge Community Association in Duck, N.C. She is a former member of the Annapolis Corvette Club, the board of directors of the London Town Public House in Edgewater, Md., and the American Cancer Society. Bassford received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland University College. She and her husband, Stephen, have one son and t wo grandchildren.
Desaulniers is a physician with Emergency Service Associates in Salisbury. He is a member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and the American College of Emergency Physicians. Desaulniers received his bachelor’s degree from Washington College and his medical degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore.
He completed his residency training in emergency medicine at the University of South Carolina, and is board certified in emergency medicine. He and his wife, Bridget, live in Princess Anne.
Howarth is the deputy county attorney for Wicomico County. She is a member of the Maryland Bar Association, Wicomico County Bar Association, Maryland Association of Counties and St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Ocean City. Howarth received her bachelor’s degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., and her juris doctorate from the University of Baltimore. She lives in Ocean City with her husband, Justin.
O’Malley is president of Long Life Treated Wood in Hebron. He is a member of the Glen Riddle Golf Club and the Baltimore Country Club. He is president of the 13 on the Beach Condo Association and past president of the Salisbury Wicomico Lions Club. He and his wife, Lori, have two daughters, Madison and Kathryn.
Wright is president of the Vernon Powell Shoe Co. in Salisbury. He is a former board member of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce. He volunteers as a youth lacrosse and soccer coach. Wright received his bachelor’s degree from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. He lives in Salisbury with his wife, Jennifer, and their three children, J.P., Caroline and Grant.
