The public is invited to a 40th anniversary Founder’s Day celebration on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m., in Guerrieri Hall at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.
Speakers will include Dr. Ray Hoy, president, Sen. Jim Mathias, D-38, Del. Charles J. Otto, R-38A, Bob Culver, Wicomico County executive, Jim Bunting, president of the Worcester County Commissioners, and Marty Neat, chairperson of the college’s board of trustees.
Robert W. Cook, one of the founders of Wor-Wic, will give the keynote address. Four former students were selected to give brief remarks focusing on their experiences at Wor-Wic and how the college has impacted their lives. Alumni speakers will include Barry Q. Brittingham Jr., a 2014 business transfer graduate who was recently hired as human resources director of
McCready Health; Matt Maciarello, a 1994 general studies graduate who is state’s attorney for Wicomico County; Michele Y. McIntosh, a 2003 nursing graduate who is a clinical manager at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center; and Karie Solembrino, a 1995 radiologic technology graduate who is professor and department head of Wor-Wic’s radiologic technology program. Jason Stokes, plant manager at PolyOne, will address the benefits of customized training services offered by Wor-Wic’s continuing education and workforce development division.
