SALISBURY, MD—Salisbury University’s spring Writers on the Shore series continues with poet Nancy Mitchell on Wednesday, March 6.
A longtime SU faculty member, Mitchell is a 2012 Pushcart Prize winner and the author of three volumes of poetry: The Near Surround, Grief Hut and The Out-of-Body Shop. In addition, her works have been published in many journals and anthologies. She also is co-editor of Plume Interviews 1 and serves as associate editor of special features for Plume Poetry.
Other upcoming authors reading from their works in the series include:
- Wednesday, April 17 – Melissa Crowe: The author of Dear Terror, Dear Splendor, Crowe is co-editor of Beloit Poetry Journal, and teaches poetry and publishing and coordinates the M.F.A. program at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
- Wednesday, May 1, Perdue Hall, Bennett Family Auditorium – Amber Sparks: The author of the short story collection The Unfinished World and Other Stories, as well as additional works, Sparks has received praise from The New York Times, The Washington Post and Paris Review, among others. Her reading marks the release of the 2019 issue of SU’s literary magazine Scarab. Students published in the magazine also read from their works.
All readings are 8 p.m. in the Worcester Room of the Commons unless otherwise noted.
