Wicomico County’s annual Good Beer Festival is back – with a twist.
This year, the festival will be held on a Friday night and a Saturday during the day.
Dates for the ninth annual event are Friday-Saturday, Oct. 12-13, and hours are 5-10 p.m. that Friday and 12:30-5:30 p.m. that Saturday.
There will be 100 craft brews, live music, food and craft vendors, Carni Beer Games, and The Pub, an entertainment area with karaoke on Friday and a broadcast of sports on Saturday.
“We’re excited about the Good Beer Festival’s move to a Friday and Saturday event,” said Vanessa Junkin, assistant director of marketing and public relations for Wicomico County Recreation, Parks & Tourism. “The atmosphere is going to be awesome.”
The Local Beer Garden, featuring select breweries, will be back this year, along with the home brew competition, which has a registration deadline of Sept. 14 or until 100 entries are registered. Learn more about making beer through Pro Brewer Beer Talks, and taste home brewed beer entered into the competition on the Saturday of the festival.
There will also be cornhole tournaments and oversized games to partake in.
Tasting tickets include a 3 oz. glass and as many samples as one can responsibly consume.
Early bird tickets are available through Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. Early bird tasting tickets are $25 and early bird non-tasting tickets are $5. After that date, regular tickets will be available at the cost of $35 for tasting tickets and $10 for non-tasting tickets. Fees may apply.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.GoodBeerFestival.org or at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center box office, located at 500 Glen Ave. in Salisbury (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; closed Labor Day). The box office can be reached at 410-548-4911.
