SALISBURY, Md. – Hundreds of baseball and softball players will be showing their skills in Wicomico County during the Baseball Youth All-American Games and Softball Youth All-American Games this week.
Individual players will come together on teams during these tournaments, which are set for Aug. 5-8 at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex in Salisbury. The events are powered by the Athletx Sports Group.
There are 254 players scheduled to compete in the Baseball Youth All-American Games and 354 players scheduled to compete in the Softball Youth All-American Games. There are several age groups for each tournament, with the youngest baseball players in elementary school and the oldest softball players having recently graduated from high school.
“We are excited to welcome baseball and softball players from 27 states to Wicomico County,” said Cole Lacey, assistant tourism manager for Wicomico County. “The Baseball Youth All-American Games and Softball Youth All-American Games are fun events that really showcase these players’ talents.”
The tournament is projected to generate an estimated direct economic impact of $1.3 million.
