SALISBURY, MD – 3rd Friday is pleased to announce its theme line-up for the 2022 outdoor season in Downtown Salisbury. The monthly art and entertainment street festival hosts local artisans along Main Street, and uses themes to keep things exciting during the outdoor season April through November. Some themes are fan favorites and occur every year while other themes come and go. No matter what theme, every 3rd Friday will be tons of fun this season.
3rd Friday kicks off the 2022 outdoor season on April 15th with ‘Hello Spring’ –highlighting everything from baby animals and spring flowers, to sustainability projects and local environmental groups. May 20th will have a ‘Wheels’ theme- with a focus on bikes, cars, and skateboards, complete with a car show and a pop-up skate park. June 17th 3rd Friday will be fan favorite ‘Paw Prints’ also known as ‘Bring Your Dog to 3rd Friday Month’ with special activities for furry friends.
July 15th’s theme will be ‘Water World’ to keep things cool with water activities and a Fishmobile. The outdoor season will wrap up on November 18th with a ‘Holiday Lights’ theme that will include the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, as well as, a last chance to shop from the 3rd Friday vendors for everyone on your list.
“Monthly themes are a jumping off point for special activities and for local businesses and vendors to get creative, and keep things fresh” says 3rd Friday producer Jamie Heater. The City of Salisbury’s Movies on the River series that coincides with 3rd Friday each month also loosely follows the themes, with a fun line-up of new and throwback movies, all free to enjoy all season long at Riverwalk Amphitheater just after sundown.
3rd Friday’s 2022 event footprint will take place on Main Street from the Plaza to Court Street, and along N. Division Street in front of the Government Office Building. In May and July, the footprint will extend farther down Main Street towards the Baptist and Poplar Hill intersections to accommodate special events. Road closures and parking closures can be expected to affect these areas around 2 p.m. on event days. Any traffic changes, or changes to road closures will be updated online.
