On March 14, 2024 we could not have asked for a more than perfect afternoon to celebrate our March Business After Hours! Thank you to Wicomico Yacht Club (WYC) in Eden, MD for hosting us and providing our members the perfect waterfront venue, spectacular sunset, delightful food and beverage, door prizes, and the opportunity to network and build relationships.
The group was welcomed by Vice Commodore Ann Nelson, Rear Commodore Mike Carey, and President of the First Mates Jane Seagraves. Ann commented “Thank you all for showing up on this beautiful day! We lost our building after a fire in 2016, and thanks to the generosity and camaraderie of our members we were able to rebuild this brand-new spectacular building and opened it in the summer of 2018. We have events at the Club all year round for our members, but we also have events to support our community such as the Nautical Auction and Toys for Tots for which we are the largest supplier of toys in Wicomico County. If you need any information on membership let us know, and if you want to enjoy the beautiful venue again join us next Saturday, March 23 at out popular annual Oyster Roast, where for $40 you can eat steamed and raw oysters, oyster fritter sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, beer, waters and sodas”.
Founded in 1959, the WYC is located in a safe harbor on the Wicomico River, and offers memberships for all to enjoy their waterfront facilities, full-service marina, seasonal outdoor pool, a seasonal Tiki Bar and fine or casual dining. Exclusive member events are offered throughout the year.
Guests had the opportunity to network inside and outside the Club as they enjoyed light fare prepared by their kitchen staff that included pretzel bread and crab dip, steamed shrimps, wings, and pulled pork sandwiches, as well as beer or wine. Door prizes included swag items from the Yacht Club, and a 50/50 raffle took place benefiting the SACC Foundation scholarship endowment.
