The Rotary Club of Salisbury is pleased to welcome to its Thursday, January 22 meeting Anne T. Hogan, Chief Executive Officer of the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay (GSCB).  Her presentation is entitled “Girl Scouts Leadership Experience.”

The GSCB is the Delmarva Peninsula’s premier organization for girls, encompassing more than 16,500 girls and adult members in our region.

Hogan, who became the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay’s CEO in 2008, has been involved in Girl Scouting since the age of seven.  She credits Girl Scouting with teaching her the core skills of responsibility, respect and integrity, which have influenced her success as a corporate executive.  As Senior Executive Vice President and Director of Portfolio Marketing Operations at MBNA, she has helped launch the bank’s global operations in the United Kingdom and manages 500 employees.

Hogan has overseen much advancement in the GSCB including a celebration in recognition of 100 years of Girl Scouting and the 50th anniversary of the council.  Her focus includes the local development of ToGetHer There, a national multifaceted advocacy and fundraising effort by Girl Scouts to increase leadership opportunities for girls.

Hogan encourages other professional women to consider volunteering their time with the Girl Scouts.  “Girl Scouts actively gives girls leadership opportunities, but the adults who spend time working with the girls gain just as much helping to make a difference in a girl’s life,” she said.

The Rotary Club of Salisbury meets every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in the Rotary Scout and Community Center at 1715 Riverside Drive in Salisbury.  To learn more about the Rotary Club of Salisbury or to obtain membership information, please contact Membership Chairman Dave Harris at iharris@wcboe.org or visit the club’s website at www.rotarysalisbury.org.
