Baltimore, Md., (July 9, 2025)The Daily Record selected Megan Outten, former Salisbury Councilwoman and current Chair of the Wicomico County Commission for Women, to receive one of the 2025 Leading Women Under 40 Awards.

“I am still blown away,” says Outten. “I am deeply humbled to receive this recognition, and I want to instead highlight the incredible community that has shaped me. Thank you to my family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. This honor is due to every voice that has shaped me here in Wicomico.”

The Daily Record’s Leading Women Under 40 Awards honor women who are 40 years of age and younger for the accomplishments they have made so far in their careers. Winners were selected for the honor based on their professional experience, community involvement and commitment to inspiring change.
