Shatter the Stigma Walk is September 27

SHATTER THE STIGMA WALK

Wor-Wic Community College will host the Shatter the Stigma Walk to raise awareness of addiction and recovery resources at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, at the college campus on the Hazel Center quad.

The event aims to encourage conversations and reduce the stigma surrounding addiction, fostering an environment where individuals can seek help without shame or guilt. While online registration for the walk is encouraged, it is not mandatory. Along with a stroller- and disability-friendly one-mile walking path, the event will feature free T-shirts, snacks, juggler Cascading Carlos, face painting, a DJ and more.

The free, rain-or-shine event is in partnership with Walk Wicomico, the Wicomico County Health Department and Wicomico Goes Purple, a countywide effort to promote substance misuse prevention, treatment and recovery. The event will also offer addiction resource information and Naloxone training. Visit the event section of www.worwic.edu for more information or to register.
