Maryland VSBE & SBR Programs Certification Workshop Series

This December workshop will be hosted in Wicomico County. Join us for an informative Certification Workshop hosted in collaboration with the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Procurement, Salisbury University and local small business resources. This workshop is designed to provide information on local small business resources including the and assist vendors seeking a Certified Small Business (CSB) certification or recertification and/or Veteran-Owned Small Business Enterprise (VSBE) Program.

Vendors must be registered in eMMA prior to the workshop in order to get your certification. For assistance see the tools below. If you need to register, you can review the vendor registration process through this Quick Reference Guide.

For the VSBE & CSB certifications please come prepared with the following:

  • Laptop (required to complete the certification process)

  • Google Chrome browser

  • Tax ID Number (EIN)

  • UNSPSC Codes for your business profile in eMaryland Marketplace Advantage (eMMA), you can explore those at https://www.ungm.org/public/unspsc

  • For VSBE Certification: Electronic copy of your DD214

  • For CSB Certification (for the SBR Program): Electronic access to the last 3 years of your business’ gross sales (2024, 2023, and 2022 tax returns) and number of employees

NOTE: To get your VSBE or CSB Certification you must be registered in eMaryland Marketplace Advantage (eMMA – emma.maryland.gov), the state of Maryland’s electronic “Bid Board”. If you need to register, you can review the vendor registration process through this Quick Reference Guide.

What you need to know:

  • There is no cost to attend

  • Advance registration is required

  • You must check in at the front desk upon arrival

  • A brief overview of each program will be presented

  • Assistance with getting your VSBE/CSB certifications on the spot will be conducted following the presentations

  • Free Parking.
