Delmarva, MD — The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore (CFES) has awarded a grant to the Society of St. Andrew (SoSA) Delmarva, enabling the organization to distribute 200,000 servings of fresh, nutritious produce to individuals and families who may otherwise lack access to healthy foods.

The grant will support SoSA Delmarva’s gleaning and produce‑rescue initiatives across the region. Through partnerships with local farmers, volunteers, and hunger‑relief agencies, the organization redirects surplus fruits and vegetables—food that would otherwise go to waste—to food banks, pantries, and community programs serving neighbors in need.

“This generous support from the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore strengthens our ability to fight hunger with healthy, fresh food,” saidJean Siers, Regional Director, Society of St. Andrew Delmarva. “Together, we are ensuring that families across the lower Eastern Shore have access to the nutritious produce they deserve.”
