Salisbury, MD — Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore invites community members to join in celebrating the educators who make career-connected learning possible for thousands of students across the region during its inaugural “What’s Next at JA?” community event.
The event, What’s Next at JA? Celebrating Educators will be held Tuesday, August 25, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Perdue Henson Junior Achievement Center in Salisbury.
As students and teachers prepare for a new school year, Junior Achievement is inviting the community to recognize and thank the middle and high school educators whose partnership helps bring real-world learning experiences to life for more than 13,000 students annually across Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
“Our middle and high school educators are among Junior Achievement’s most important partners,” said JJ Skyler, President & CEO of Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore. “Every day, they help students connect classroom learning to future opportunities, and their commitment extends far beyond their own classrooms.
“Whether they’re preparing students for experiences like JA BizTown, Finance Park, and Leadership Academy, volunteering at the Perdue Henson Junior Achievement Center, or championing career-connected learning in their schools, these educators make our mission possible. Because of their partnership, we’re able to serve more than 13,000 students across the Eastern Shore each year.
“As we prepare for another school year, we wanted to create an opportunity for our community to join us in recognizing these outstanding educators. Their dedication helps open doors for young people every day, and this event is our way of saying thank you.”
Skyler said the event is designed not only to celebrate educators, but also to strengthen the connections between schools, businesses, nonprofits, and community members who share a commitment to student success.
Community members are encouraged to attend and are invited to bring a middle or high school teacher as their guest. Educators in attendance will be eligible to win a variety of classroom support prizes, including gift baskets, gift cards, and other resources designed to support teaching and learning throughout the school year.
The event is part of Junior Achievement’s new “What’s Next at JA?” community series, which will bring together partners and stakeholders around topics impacting youth, education, and workforce readiness across the Eastern Shore.

Together, we can recognize the individuals who inspire students, strengthen our schools, and help connect education to future opportunities.
