EDEN, MD – Tickets and sponsorships are now available for the Flannel Formal, the annual celebration of land conservation held each year to benefit the Lower Shore Land Trust. The Land Trust will honor John Groutt with the esteemed Stephen N. Parker Conservation Legacy Award, presented annually to recognize a landowner or conservation practitioner for their contributions to private land conservation on the Lower Eastern Shore. Past recipients include Charles “Buddy” Jenkins, Larry Leese, John B. Long, Hugh Cropper IV, Ann G. Carlson, and King Burnett.
The event will be held on Saturday, November 7th from 3:30-6:30pm and will be held at Bordeleau Vineyards & Winery in Eden, recognized as one of the best wineries in Maryland.
Flannel Formal attendees are invited to wear their favorite flannel, dressy or casual, to celebrate the season. This year’s musical entertainment will be a live performance by Boy Wells and the Originals, a regional group playing a roots-driven mix of blues, Southern rock, country, jazz, bluegrass, and American roots music, featuring original compositions by Wells (such as his solo album Blue Skies Calling) alongside classic covers. Veteran guitarist and vocalist Boy Wells was mentored by world-renowned guitar virtuoso, Danny Gatton, and has performed professionally since the late 1970s across Virginia and Maryland. He has opened for and played with countless major national acts including The Beach Boys, Kenny Chesney, The Ventures, The Kentucky Headhunters, and Molly Hatchet.
Delicacies offered will be an array of The Modern Graze’s signature artisan charcuterie, Baywater Seafood’s oysters on the half shell, and Pit & Pub BBQ with all the fixings. Beverages available are fine Bordeleau wines, craft beers, and a George’s Mixes Bloody Mary Bar. Attendees will enjoy yard games, a fire patio, and bidding on silent auction items.
Tickets are $100 per person until 10/31, and $125 per person after 10/31 and at the door. Purchase tickets AND sponsorships at the Lower Shore Land Trust website, call 443-234-5587, or email info@LSLT.org.
