
Wicomico schools will hold open house events Thursday, Aug. 27 (elementary schools) and Wednesday, Aug. 26 (middle and high schools) in preparation for the opening of the 2026-2027 school year on Tuesday, Sept. 1, for most students.
Open house information for elementary schools is listed below, followed by key dates for the start of the school year. (Information on middle and high school open houses is posted separately.) If a school has posted a school supply list, a link is provided.
Schools will send out student school-year information letters on Aug. 14, with open house information included with this welcome letter.

Thursday, Aug. 27: Elementary School Open Houses
Beaver Run Elementary: Beaver Run is excited for the 2026-2027 school year! The open house for Beaver Run students and families will be on Thursday, Aug. 27 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Families will be able to enroll in our School-Based Health Care Center, register for car rider tags and visit community vendors. Teachers will be ready to meet their new students in their classrooms. Principal Dave Harris, Assistant Principal Rene Morris and the whole staff can’t wait to see all of our students and families!

Charles H. Chipman Elementary: The staff at Chipman Elementary School is excited to welcome our scholars and families back for another wonderful school year! Delmar Elementary: Delmar Elementary is excited to welcome all of our students back to school. Fruitland Primary: Open House will be Thursday, Aug. 27 from 4-6 p.m. Principal Parris Abt, new Assistant Principal Cynthia Rainbow, and the whole FPS team are excited to welcome our students and families to the start of a wonderful school year. Glen Avenue Elementary: The Glen Avenue Elementary staff is thrilled to welcome our students and families to the start of an exciting new school year! Based on family feedback, we are once again partnering with Charles H. Chipman Elementary to host a joint Open House on Thursday, Aug. 27 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Lake Street Park (across from Chipman). As part of our Title I Orientation, we will have a special Glen Avenue table set up with information about how Title I supports all students. Families can stop by to pick up the Title I brochure and school-parent compact, view a brief overview, and learn more about how these resources benefit our school community. Students who visit the table and chat with staff about the program will even receive a small treat. We are proud to continue providing all school supplies for our scholars thanks to Title I funding. Parents and guardians may focus instead on preparing students with a bookbag and school clothing, just as we’ve done for the past few years.

North Salisbury Elementary: Our Open House event will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27 for all students.
