Salisbury, MD — The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce (SACC) welcomed on August 14 more than 60 members and guests to its August Business After Hours networking event hosted by the Courtyard by Marriott Salisbury at 128 Troopers Way.
Taking a break from the summer heat, attendees enjoyed an evening of connecting with fellow business professionals while sampling light fare prepared by the hotel’s chef Terrence, refreshing beverages, and delicious desserts provided by The Dinner Express.
Patty Shea, Director of Sales for both the Courtyard by Marriott Salisbury and Residence Inn by Marriott Salisbury and an active Chamber volunteer who currently serves on the SACC’s At Large Council welcomed the guests. Shea shared, “People ask me why Salisbury is so busy on the weekends. It’s sporting events and weddings, and they happen all year long. We have a fabulous staff, and our passion is to have everything working well, looking good, and staying clean. The banquet room we are in is ideal for social events, weddings, corporate meetings, and forums for companies throughout the area. We can provide the catering, or you can choose a local caterer to bring the food. If you are a SACC chamber member, make sure to call me to get your Chamber discount!”.
Attendees were also invited to tour the property, including guest rooms, lobby, indoor pool, and fitness center. The Courtyard by Marriott Salisbury features 106 guest rooms across four floors (including 4 suites), meeting space, complimentary on-site parking, a fitness center, and an indoor pool. The on-site Courtyard Bistro offers breakfast and light fare and serves as a casual gathering spot for travelers and guests. Ideally located on the north side of Salisbury, the hotel provides easy access to shopping, dining, and local attractions, making it a popular choice for business travelers, families, and groups alike. Guests looking for 4+ days’ stays, Shea recommends staying at their sister hotel, the Residence Inn by Marriott.
The evening included several prize giveaways, including themed gifts baskets, and 2-night gift certificates from the Hampton Inn and Marriott AC hotels in Washington, DC. Guests also supported the SACC and Wor-Wic Scholarship Fund by purchasing raffle tickets for a chance to win two $50 gift cards. Lucky winner Laura Jones won gift cards from Mojo’s and the Delmarva Shore Birds!
“We are grateful to Patty Shea and the entire Courtyard by Marriott team for hosting such a wonderful event and being such a great supporter of our community,” said Sigrid Vélez, Director of Membership Services for the SACC. “Business After Hours continues to provide valuable opportunities for our members to connect, collaborate, and strengthen our local business community.”
