The Mayor’s Office has learned of the recent passing of former Mayor Jack Heath following a long illness. Jack leaves behind a legacy of steady leadership, dedicated service, and a deep commitment to the people of Salisbury. His loss will be felt throughout our community.
Jack served Salisbury with distinction for many years, first as City Council President and later as Acting Mayor in 2023. Throughout his service, he helped guide the City through periods of transition with a calm resolve, thoughtful leadership, and a genuine desire to strengthen the community he cared so deeply about. He spent countless hours in our neighborhoods, attending community events, and talking with residents; always doing his part to make Salisbury a better place.
The Mayor’s Office and the entire City of Salisbury organization extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his wife, Linda, their three children, and all those who knew and loved him. Jack’s dedication to public service and unwavering commitment to Salisbury will be remembered with tremendous gratitude.
In honor of former Mayor Jack Heath’s life and service to the City of Salisbury, City flags will be lowered to half-staff and will remain lowered through sunset on the day of his funeral services.
