Comcast and Salisbury Area Chamber Convene Local Businesses to Highlight Trends in Technology and Connectivity

Comcast Business Mixer

On June 22, Comcast and the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce brought together business and thought leaders from across the region for an evening of informative discussions around trends in technology and connectivity.

The “Business Mixer” was hosted at the Salisbury Xfinity store (2618 N Salisbury Blvd., Salisbury, MD 21801).

With digital transformation playing a critical role in business growth, Comcast Business experts highlighted a range of products and services at the event – including how Comcast Business SecurityEdge™  helps businesses protect all connected devices on their network, and how Comcast Business Mobile provides reliable and affordable mobile plans tailored to businesses’ unique needs.

Guests heard from Jeff Merritt, a local Comcast Business customer who is co-owner of Minuteman Press – a business that provides design, print and marketing services – as well as the founder of Operation We Care, a non-profit that supports military and first responders. Merritt highlighted the importance of building a strong technology foundation and how he utilizes Comcast Business’ Internet and Business VoiceEdge® solutions to stay connected and deliver an enhanced customer experience.

“We have a very busy shop and also run a nonprofit organization – so reliable connectivity is vital to achieving our goals,” said Merritt. “We have relied on Comcast Business for more than 13 years and our service has always been seamless. Their team keeps us up to speed on the latest connectivity solutions and makes themselves available around the clock to ensure our operations are running smoothly.”

Members of Comcast’s Veterans Network Employee Resource Group joined the event to highlight Comcast’s special offers for members of the military, as well as the Comcast Veterans Network Flag Replacement Program.

Additionally, Comcast shared information on the federal government’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which provides eligible low-income households with a credit of up to $30 per month ($75 per month on Tribal lands) toward their Internet and/or mobile service. Thanks to ACP, eligible Comcast customers can get home Internet through Comcast’s Internet Essentials or Internet Essentials Plus at no cost once the federal credit is applied. Internet Essentials customers can also add a line of unlimited 5G cellular data ($45) through Xfinity Mobile for as little as $24.95/month after the ACP benefit is applied.

“We applaud Comcast for its continued investment in the Salisbury region,” said Bill Chambers, President and CEO of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce. “From helping local businesses accelerate their digital transformation to driving awareness of free and low-cost Internet options, Comcast is powering possibilities across the Salisbury region every day.”
