Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF) is pleased to announce the approval of Steven P. Nichols, P.E., for licensure by the New York State Office of the Professions as a Professional Engineer (P.E.). Nichol’s successful completion of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) examination provides evidence of his ability to practice competently as a Civil Engineer. As a prerequisite of his eligibility to take the October exam, Nichols was required to provide evidence of at least twelve combined years of education and experience.
A graduate of New York’s Rochester Institute of Technology, Nichols relocated to the Salisbury, Maryland, area i
n 2014. Experienced with water and wastewater design implementation, site design, site layout, grading, utility layout/design, and the development of construction documents, he has also performed on-site inspections and reporting, site surveys and stakeouts, investigative field work, and construction phase documentation for a variety of projects here on the Eastern Shore.
Since joining DBF, Nichols has used his skills to contribute to a wide range of projects that have included design development for a local City Hall complex, site and stormwater management design for a condominium development, commercial, hotel and residential developments, multiple utility layouts including a mile-long forcemain extension in Sussex County, Delaware, and construction administration for projects in Maryland.

Upon receipt of his New York P.E. license, Nichols anticipates transferring licensure to both Maryland and Delaware.
