Thirteen teams turned out on Saturday, July 11 for the inaugural “Kicks for Kids” kickball tournament and fundraising event and raised more than $4,000 for Coastal Kids Supportive Care, the pediatric program of Coastal Hospice.
After a knockout tournament, the winning team was Outta Bounds captained by Rod Bounds, with The Ballers and team captain David Capobianco coming in second.
Other teams participating in the tournament included APPI Energy, Perdue, The Daily Times, PRMC’s Gas Passers, K&L Microwave, Kuhn’s Jewelers, PRMC Crushers, Roadie Joe’s, Salisbury Apartments, World Gym and Salisbury Young Professionals.
K&L Microwave’s team won best team T-shirt.
Monster Sponsors for the event included Holt Paper & Chemical, Avery W. Hall Insurance Agency and APPI Energy.
The event benefited Coastal Kids Supportive Care, the pediatric support program of Coastal Hospice. Coastal Kids offers specialized medical attention for children with serious illness, providing comprehensive treatment for the relief of discomfort, symptoms and stress. The goal of care is to improve the quality of life for both the child and the family. Coastal Hospice and Coastal Kids serve Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester and Somerset counties.
