PRMC CEO Receives 2013 ACHE Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award

Dr. Peggy Naleppa, MS, MBA, FACHE, President/CEO of Peninsula Regional Medical Center, recently received the prestigious 2014 American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award at the Maryland chapter’s annual meeting.

The Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award recognizes ACHE members who have made significant lifetime contributions to the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of the organization’s goals.

The selection committee evaluated nominees on their leadership ability, creative management styles, innovation, the success they have achieved in developing their own organization, promoting the growth and stature of their hospitals in the communities they serve and for their contributions to others in the healthcare industry.

“I am humbled to be recognized by such an exceptional organization and team of leaders and peers who are focused on education, career development and always looking for those new and innovative ideas that will improve the healthcare experience for our patients,” said Dr. Naleppa.

Dr. Naleppa has a nearly 40-year history as a healthcare executive and is the President/CEO of Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) and the Peninsula Regional Health System in Salisbury, Maryland.

She began her healthcare career as Director of Neurosurgical Services at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC.  She has been a clinical leader or as a senior executive at several hospitals in Maryland including: Anne Arundel Medical Center, Calvert Memorial Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital.  She has served as President of the Maryland Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and has held several leadership positions with the Maryland Hospital Association. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Dr. Naleppa, who is a registered nurse, holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from St. Joseph’s College; a Master of Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from the University of Maryland University College; an MBA with a concentration in medical services from Johns Hopkins University; and a Doctorate in Management with a concentration in organizational process management from the University of Maryland University College.
