The Wicomico County Council recently presented the Salisbury Jaycees with a proclamation congratulating the chapter on being named among the top 10 Jaycees chapters in the U.S. by its parent organization, JCI USA.
The proclamation saluted the Jaycees for running 42 projects in 2014, including the Salisbury Christmas Parade, Children’s Christmas Shopping Tour, Treat Street safe Halloween trick-or-treating initiative and Soft Shell Metric Century bicycle ride. The honor also recognized the chapter for participating in community events including Wicomico County’s Pork in the Park barbecue festival, monthly 3rd Friday celebrations in downtown Salisbury, the Fruitland Easter Parade and Salisbury University’s Volunteer Fair.
“The Salisbury Jaycees truly go above and beyond to help the community and make it a better place,” the proclamation said. “Without the many members of the Jaycees donating their time and dedication to Wicomico County, these events would not be possible.”
