Mayor James Ireton, Jr. says mark your calendar for Small Business Saturday on November 29th!  The City is encouraging citizens to shop local this holiday season and support small businesses. Studies show that when you shop local, more of your money stays in the area, which generates a positive economic impact in your local community.

Downtown Salisbury is a hub of locally owned businesses, and the City is working closely with them to make Small Business Saturday a success. Take a stroll in Downtown Salisbury on November 29th and do your holiday shopping at one of the local art galleries, retailers, or restaurants.

“The downtown has seen a surge in new businesses and there are more in the pipeline for opening.  Small business is the backbone of the American economy, and Salisbury is leading the way with the creation of new jobs that these downtown businesses provide.  I encourage you to stop and shop, Downtown on November 29th!” said Mayor James Ireton, Jr.

Currently, there are 11 businesses who will be offering special deals, discounts, and giveaways on Small Business Saturday.

Please visit Downtown Salisbury’s Facebook page for updates on deals as they are added!

After you shop small on November 29th, head over to the 9th Annual Lighting Ceremony for the Winter Wonderland of Lights in the Salisbury City Park at 5 PM.
