On Friday, April 22, 2022, one month past the original rained-out date, new and not-so-new golfers gathered for the Third Annual Ladies and Mixed Team Golf Challenge at Green Hill Country Club. Seventy-two players were appreciative of the delayed round of golf, which offered “Chamber of Commerce Weather” (sunny, seventy-five degrees!)
This 9-hole “fun for everyone” event continues to grow and the 2022 edition was the biggest to date!
Both the front and back nine layouts were used for this year’s challenge which was a four-person scramble format.
A total of six teams were awarded prizes. The top finisher for the event was the team from Pohanka Automotive Group with the TidalHealth team coming in second place and the team from M&T Bank finishing third.
The BBSI team followed in fourth place, The Salisbury Independent in fifth, and PKS & Company, PA finished the lineup in sixth place.
Contest winners were Karen Dunn and Denise Brewington for closest to the pin on holes #8 and #11.
Long drive champs were Karen Dunn on hole #6 and Jamila Johnson on hole #15.
Following play, the participants enjoyed an “Azalea” the signature drink sponsored by BBSI, HomeCentris Healthcare, and Royal Granite & Marble with a buffet of delicious appetizers.
